Easy to play with, easy to dress! My First Barbie from 1980 was the first edition from which Mattel continued to replicate the concept of easy-to-handle and easy-to-dress Barbie dolls with the youngest fingers in mind.
There are several editions of My First Barbie but this was the first ever! Mattel’s philosophy was that education and fun belonged together and that a doll was the vehicle through which a child expressed his or her being and developed. It is for this reason that My First Barbie doll was designed with smooth, straight legs and special wardrobe for easy dressing.
My First Barbie, made in Philippines, has a twist’ n turn waist body, straight arms and shiny smooth legs that glide easily into skirts and pants. She has a very lovely childish Superstar face with rosy cheeks and very unique pretty blue eyes! Her “skin” tone is very light, so the distinctive features of her face stand out a lot. My First Barbie also has beautiful, shiny long blonde hair that can be styled in different ways and decorated with the blue ribbon she brings.
My First Barbie comes with four easy to snap, wrap, or slip-on fashion pieces to mix and match! Her easy-to-dress outfit features a yellow wrap-around halter swimsuit, that can be used as a top, trimmed in blue and matching yellow slip-on pants! She also comes with a knee-length skirt in turquoise blue and a pretty striped strapless slip-on top in bright colors, ideal for spring-summer fashion. Her shoes are bright yellow open-toe high heels, perfect for any fashion mix you dress her in.
My First Barbie also comes with yellow hairbrush and comb, an instruction book with a message for mom that shows how to easily dress and style Barbie, and more. She comes in a nice colorful box with photos and art of her. Unquestionably, My First Barbie from 1980 is one of the loveliest, sweetest and most iconic Barbie dolls from the early 80’s!
