The heat is rising and Wet ‘n Wild Kira is looking to cool off this summer that promises to be a pretty hot one!
This beautiful doll is Wet ‘n Wild Kira from 1989. Wet ‘n Wild Kira is one of the dolls in the Wet ‘n Wild Barbie collection, one of the most recognized lines of beach Barbie dolls from the late 80’s to early 90’s that is characterized by swimsuits that change color in icy water. This cool line from Mattel, in addition to Kira, includes Barbie, Teresa, Christie, Skipper, Ken, and Steven. In addition to the dolls, Wet ‘n Wild Barbie collection includes fun summer fashions and several playsets.
Wet ‘n Wild Kira was made in Malaysia and is Mattel doll #4120. She has one of my favorite face molds, Kira sculpt. This gorgeous friend of Barbie with Asian features has beautiful elongated brown eyes. Kira is wearing olive green sage eyeshadow that contrasts very well with her eyes and her delicate tanned “skin” tone. She also has blushed cheeks and orange-coral lipstick. But something I love about her is her long, thick black hair! Her straight hair is silky and shiny with crimped ends. She also has bangs and a half ponytail. A very lovely style for summer!
Wet ‘n Wild Kira is wearing a one-piece swimsuit with pink on top and lime green on the bottom. The pink part changes to purple upon direct contact with icy water. As soon as it is no longer in contact with the icy water, the swimsuit changes to its original color. She also brings orange sunglasses, 2 pieces of cool jewelry that she can also wear in her hair, and a hairbrush. Wet ‘n Wild Kira is fun in and out of the water!
