Spiegel Summer Sophisticate Barbie 1995

Spend a Summer Sophisticate vacation with Barbie in Paris, France! As she walks slowly towards her hotel, a stop at one of the famous Parisian street cafes is a must to enjoy a buttery croissant with a cup of coffee. Such is a day in the life of a cool, calmly sophisticated woman of style!

Summer Sophisticate Barbie is a limited edition of the Spiegel series by Mattel (Spiegel was an American direct marketing retailer founded in 1865 by Joseph Spiegel and which ceased operations as recently as 2020). This refined Barbie doll is one of several elegant special edition Spiegel Barbies released in the 90’s. Summer Sophisticate Barbie was manufactured in Indonesia in 1995, the same year as Shopping Chic Barbie, another chic and charming Spigel doll that I also have in my collection and that fascinates me just like this one.

Summer Sophisticate Barbie has a stunning Mackie face that looks like porcelain! This distinguished and sophisticated lady has beautiful blue eyes with a serene look made up with black eyeliner and celeste blue eyeshadow. Her cheeks are delicately blushed and her lips with the classic scarlet red lipstick that gives her elegance and distinction. Her short caramel blonde hair is styled in the vintage 50’s style of high-class ladies. A very graceful Barbie doll!

Such a classy lady can only dress in a luxurious and impeccable way! Her elegant summer fashion consists of a beautiful white and pink silk shantung dress with lemon yellow horizontal lines and an aqua blue ribbon bow accent under the bust. She also wears a short cropped pink jacket with a porcelain rose on her lapel. But such a sophisticated outfit is not complete without a matching hat! Her pink felt fancy hat is decorated with an embroidery of delicate flowers. To finish a flawless look, Summer Sophisticate Barbie wears a “pearl” necklace, earrings, and ring, sunglasses, coordinating heels and handbag with a pearly finish. And I can’t forget to mention the elegant aqua blue hat box with her name on it that she carries while strolling through the streets of Paris! Pure opulence and sophistication in one doll!

Spiegel Summer Sophisticate Barbie comes in a beautiful box ideal for display. She also comes with a hairbrush and a doll stand. Summer Sophisticate Barbie is without a doubt one of my favorite 90’s Barbie dolls!
