Holiday Barbie from 1997 is my favorite of the Happy Holidays Series that began in 1988. But, this particular brunette version is my favorite and I’m sure it is for many too. In my personal opinion, Holiday Barbie from 1997 is the one that screams Happy Holidays the most! This special edition made in China came out in blonde and African American versions as well. But this brunette version is not only truly stunning but can sell for up to more than $15,000 due to a misprint on some boxes; The doll has green eyes but in the photo on the back of the box she appears with blue eyes. Just for that detail it can be sold for exorbitant amounts of money! Can you believe it? But well, I got one in the box with the correct eye color.
1997 Holiday Barbie has a gorgeous and radiant superstar face with big expressive green eyes that convey all the feeling of the holiday season. She wears striking makeup with green and delicate gold eyeshadow, blush and red lipstick, perfect for celebrating. But for me what distinguishes her and makes her special from the other versions is her long wavy dark brown hair. Brunette Barbie dolls with green eyes are beautiful and stand out from the rest!
This Holiday Barbie celebrates the holiday season wearing a big festive gown in traditional Christmas colors and accessories of royal splendor! Her spectacular satin dress in bright Christmas red with gold glitter all over is exquisitely adorned with ribbons with delicate white and gold lace that give it a unique touch. The wide snowy white pleated skirt and bodice with sweetheart neckline are made of iridescent fabric. The bodice has a gold brooch with a red “jewel” matching the rest of her royal accessories. Her festive accents include jeweled choker, gold dangle earrings, ring, and a golden tiara adorned with six ruby-colored gemstones. She is definitely the queen of the holidays!
Holiday Barbie from 1997 comes in a big, pretty box decorated with Christmas colors and motifs, and a big photo of her on the back. Additionally, she brings red high heels, red hairbrush, and a doll stand. Hallmark also released a keepsake ornament dedicated to her.
