This beautiful Oriental Barbie doll, made in Taiwan, represents the oriental culture of Hong Kong, located in the southernmost tip of China. Oriental Barbie proudly introduced the Kira face mold to the world—a sculpt distinctively known for its celebration of Asian beauty. This enchanting doll was the pioneering figure in the Barbie brand to represent Asian heritage, draped in silk and grace. With her delicate features she captured everyone’s hearts, paving the way for future characters like Miko and Kira, Barbie’s Asian friends. 1980 Oriental Barbie, who wears the first Kira face mold ever, has delicate Asian features with very pale “skin” tone. She has pretty elongated brown eyes and wears soft green eye shadow. She also has thin eyebrows, blushing cheeks, and a closed mouth with a slight smile painted with terracotta lipstick. Her long wavy hair is very dark brown, almost black, and she has bangs. Oriental Barbie has a really lovely face, one of my favorite Barbie dolls wearing the Kira face mold!
